Greetings

Farming is not in the hands of humans but Heaven’s.

The year 2020 will be a year of a great transformation and turnaround.
It is time for us to step out to the wilderness!

Welcome to you visiting the homepage of Gyeonggi agroFood Institute.

The New Year has come. We all strived to go through 2019.

I wanted to slough off the dirt and clear up the dust before welcoming the new day, the new year.

That is why we had waited for 2020.

Finally, the new day has begun.

The days of the Gyeonggi agroFood Institute in 2020 will be filled with days of great transformation.

It will mark the first year of the great turnaround in the institute’s 15-year history, powered by elaborate innovations and bold changes.

The institute will firmly establish its position as a pivotal leader in agriculture, fisheries, food, and marine industries and a symbol of innovation in the nation’s public sector.

In 2020, we at the Gyeonggi agroFood Institute are resolutely determined to step out to the wilderness.

There will be sweeping, relentless innovation in all areas including the managerial philosophy, organization culture, business structure, and human resource development strategy.

To be new and different, we will be pursuing innovative restructuring all year round. All members of the institute should grow and become competent innovators in the wilderness of social, organizational, and business innovation.

Do not be locked in the cell of business and budget, but step out to the wilderness for the people and the field.

A tiny fire stick kindles a log fire.

I would like to ask you to be a reliable fire stick to ignite the new history of the institute.

We are witnessing potential of grand business expansion stretching out to basic income for farmers and marine industries unfolding before us.

The challenges before us include the distribution of agro-food products, mutual survival of farm villages and cities, building expertise in and modernizing the public meal industry.

What matters here is our capabilities.

Those standing on their positions without capabilities or putting old practices before innovation inflict mischief on the institute’s growth.

One may not move forward without learning. Achievement costs devotion.

In the era of the swift turnaround, we need to keep learning, polishing, and communicating.

The key is bottom-up democracy.

And at its core is friendship and cooperation.

If we are determined to burn the field in the wilderness, we should act in one accord.

There’s an African proverb: when spider webs unite they can tie up a lion.

The time has come. We have to shut ourselves up from our old practice to find workforce, budget, or admin being excuses for underperformance.

The year 2020 is ours, year in, year out.

I hope that the growth of the institute leads to individual maturity, and that we all exert our utmost efforts and capabilities to spend this year without regrets, making it an epoch-making one in the history of innovation.

I want all of us to live every single day and the whole year with the heart of a farmer who sows seeds.

To make the roots grow deep,

To make the stems grow straight,

And to make the fruits grow bigger.
